Labor making good on its gender equality pledge

Under the proposed new Workplace Gender Equality Agency Rules, the employer-level pay gap will be published and companies with more than 500 employees will be required to have a dedicated gender equality strategy.

As a result, employers are no longer able to be discreet about any gender pay gaps, and there are no longer any disciplinary actions if an employee chooses to disclose information about their salary.
