Taurus launches national health campaign: Creative & memorable EyeHealth1st Event at Sydney Art Gallery

The Taurus team hosted the launch of ASX listed 1st Group’s LookDeeper.com.au campaign before Christmas 2019. The LookDeeper.com.au campaign was brought to life with an experiential event held at the Art Gallery of NSW, supported by guests including recognised Australians such as Kirk Pengilly INXS star and Glaucoma Australia ambassador, Layne Beachley, World Champion Surfer and Matt Formston, Australian Paralympian.

4.1 Kirk Pengilly Layne Beachley

The Look Deeper campaign encourages Australians to take a deeper look at their eye health and urges them to book a comprehensive eye test online with a local independent optometrist. The national campaign drove the message that 90% of blindness is preventable with early detection and to prioritise getting regular eye tests as part of looking after your health and wellbeing.

9.1 Maui Jim

The LookDeeper.com.au event took guests on a multi-sensory journey, empowering them to prioritise their eye health. Among other experiential components, guests were challenged to wear specially designed eye disease simulation masks during the dinner course, to demonstrate the impact blindness and impaired vision has on a person’s quality of life and to truly consider the important of sight and what their lives might be like without it. To help drive the message home regarding the importance of looking after your eye health, each guest will be gifted with a complimentary pair of Maui Jim sunglasses of their choice on the evening with assistance from the Maui Jim team. Looking after your eye health in style!


Keynoting the evening was Blind Paralympian, Pro Surfer & Cyclist, Matt Formston, who spoke on the limitations of his sight and lead guests through various expeditions around the room blind folded! It was an extraordinary experience to understand the importance of getting eye tests and preventing eye disease


The event included activation by Sarah Rowan, a live painter who painted the campaign’s captivating graphic; the ‘Eyesberg’ whilst guests looked on, taking shape during the 3 course meal served by Matt Moran’s Chiswick at the Gallery.
