Taurus chosen for our reputation and network in tech
In 2015, as part of its rapid global expansion plans OVH came into Australia, establishing its base in Melbourne to service the Asia Pacific region. After months of deliberation, OVH enlisted Taurus to generate brand awareness and build their presence in Australia and Asia Pacific. Taurus was chosen for our expertise in the Tech space, our experience working with leading global brands and our invaluable network of influencers.
Taurus generated a total of 16 pieces of coverage for the launch including print and online media coverage in both mainline dailies – The Australian Financial Review and The Australian landing on the event day.

In May 2017, OVH marked its official launch in Australia with an intimate event in collaboration with the Minister’s office. VIP guests – Laurent Allard, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of OVH and The Hon. Philip Dalidakis, MP, Victorian Minister for Innovation attended to support the occasion.
Taurus worked alongside the OVH team for the successful launch event which was attended by major influencers from the Taurus network. As OVH were new to Australia, these network introductions were invaluable to kick off sales and build relationships.
In conjunction with the event, Taurus worked on an extensive PR push to announce the launch of OVH in Australia. An exclusive media invitation to the launch event was extended to the Technology Editor of The Australian who attended in person hosted by Taurus CEO.
Overcoming barriers in a crowded space
With every new entrance to the market, comes challenges. OVH was no different. OVH entered the Australian market at a time where other global cloud providers were already established and had a myriad of partnerships set up, client case studies, local expertise and local spokespeople.
Pushing the OVH differentiating factor to the media had its initial challenges. The Australian media were mostly interested in covering topics that offered a local story angle or customer case study. At the time, OVH had yet to build a pipeline of local case studies and establish themselves in the domestic market.
Delivering Results, Building Thought Leaders
At the drawing board for both OVH and Taurus, our TaurusBullseye™ brainstorming session concluded with both parties agreeing a game plan. What OVH does have, is a handful of spokespeople based in France who are high level specialist and experts in their field, talents that are not readily available in the Australian market – be it in Data Protection, GDPR, Cyber Security, Hybrid Cloud. We leveraged this expertise to build a consistent pipeline of thought leadership.
To date, our strategy has positioned OVH in the Australian market as the experts in Data Protection, GDPR and Cyber Security. OVH is not only able to comment and provide expert thought leadership advice, but also has the ability to report and compare on how Australian businesses compete on a global stage.

The OVH and Taurus relationship has grown stronger over the years. From an initial 6-month contract, OVH have re-signed on two occasions to 12 month PR contracts with Taurus, a testament to the value add and results we provide.
