The 8-part lifestyle series, which highlights Meghan’s interests in cooking and gardening, has been negatively received, with commentators questioning its authenticity and broad appeal.
Taurus Founder and Personal Brand expert Sharon Williams OAM weighed in on the criticism and backlash in an interview with News Corp Australia. Sharon echoed the sentiment around the lack of authenticity presented through the show and its potential damage to the already-fragile Sussex brand.
Sharon noted: “I think why people are baulking is that we like someone authentic. We’ve got, for example, the Duchess of York, Sarah, she’s got herself into a number of scrapes over the years, but got out because she’s just so authentic and just owns it. She says sorry, we roll our eyes and move on, but we’re still very fond of her.”
