The Taurus FastTrack© program is my first internship experience. Apart from the theory we learn in university, I really had no idea how Marketing and PR works in the real world. I was lucky enough to stumble across the opportunity to intern with Taurus. Needless to say, there is a huge disconnect between what we learn in the classroom, and what the industry really is about, and I’m glad I chose Taurus as a starting point.
I’ve not only had a taste of what the industry’s like, but also gained exposure and experience diving into businesses, industries and corporations that I did not even know existed, or did not know the importance of. That for me was extremely eye-opening. I’ve also become more aware of the media, and have been paying more attention to news and updates across different industries. I really appreciate the level of trust Taurus has placed in their interns. From the very beginning, we were able to work alongside the team, contribute and explore our creative dimensions, which made me feel valued and a part of the Taurus family.
The most challenging aspect, as for most people, was definitely COVID-19. I think interning online inevitably, more or less, took away the ability for me to communicate with the team and ask questions directly. Although the transition to remote work has been rather smooth throughout my internship, I can’t help but feel that face to face interaction is invaluable. Oh and of course, the chance to fully experience what life in an office is like!
For new interns that have yet to experience the industry, I encourage you to grasp the opportunity and join the Taurus FastTrack© program as there is much to be learned from each of the experienced Taurus team members. My time at Taurus was undoubtedly invaluable.
