The Sentral team had not approached media relations before and Taurus was engaged to break new marketing territory and announce their new product Class Builder. The Sentral team were slightly nervous and sceptical of the power of PR. But Sentral was especially impressed with the Taurus team’s understanding of education and the time the team took to understand what was a fairly complex product.
The Sentral Education brand cuts across both the education and technology sectors of the media
Sentral’s new product Class Builder is a data-driven tool that automates building a class list. The software uses a teacher logic algorithm to combine teacher insights into students with the aim of creating a more balanced classroom. It takes into account student academic abilities, behaviour and friendships with peers. Taurus set out with the objective to gain media exposure for Sentral across various target media to build brand credibility. The aim was to introduce, educate and lift the company profile in the media and grease the wheels of the sales process as a result.
Time invested to identify unique news angles
Sentral and the Taurus team set firm KPI’s and expectations with a conservative budget for a PR project. The Taurus team then identified school Principals, business managers responsible for buying IT products within schools as well as influencers within the education sector as key targets. Technology, education, entrepreneur and business media were targeted with personalised approaches. Within three to five weeks the coverage began to land and the Sentral Education brand started to become more prominent
