Gabrielle undertook a three-month internship at Taurus from 13th November 2017 to 20th February 2018. Coming to us with an interest in Public Relations and Marketing, she became exposed to a wide range of activities and responsibilities working with the Taurus Team and our CEO, Sharon Williams.
Here is Gabi’s experience and thoughts of her time with us.
“My experience as a Taurus FastTrack™ Intern was awesome. People usually associate interns with coffee runs, but here at Taurus, I got the opportunity to experience and see how the real world works and how things get done within the Marketing and PR industry.
I had the chance to meet clients, work on proposals, help with media lists, and so much more. This opportunity was valuable for me because it gave me new knowledge and skills that I could use in the future. It also improved my critical thinking and communication skills. Not only that, this experience has also boosted my confidence from simple things such as picking up phone calls to important things like helping with proposals.
It’s been an honour to work with such a great team here at Taurus. Everyone is so nice, they’re always open to new ideas, welcoming, friendly, and will always offer help and guidance whenever I’m struggling. This workplace culture makes me feel like work isn’t a burden because I felt comfortable.
My top tips for new interns would be to always be proactive! Always be on top of your game and don’t be afraid to ask questions! Also, confidence is key. If you feel confident in whatever task you’re doing, you’ll be able to make awesome results. Lastly, enjoy and have fun ???? This experience is worth everything! Good luck!”
